Avatr Unveils New 07L SUV Targeting Competitive EV Market

On August 10, 2026, Avatr, a collaborative venture between Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, launched its latest offering, the 07L small SUV. This new electric vehicle (EV) aims to carve a niche in one of the most popular market segments, coming with an introductory price of 219,900 yuan (approximately $32,590). Additional pricing tiers for the 07L include 229,900 yuan ($34,070), 249,900 yuan ($37,035), and 279,900 yuan ($41,480).
The 07L is equipped with a powerful 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing battery, enabling rapid charging capabilities. All versions of the SUV can charge from 30% to 80% in under 10 minutes, and from 0% to 80% in just 20 minutes, thanks to its 800-volt silicon carbide platform.
In terms of performance, the base Max+ and mid-tier Elite versions can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, while the Ultra trim boasts a quicker acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. The Max+ and Elite trims deliver 305 kW of power, while the Ultra trim can reach 712 kW. Range estimates indicate that the two lower trims can travel up to 725 kilometers (approximately 450 miles) on a full charge, while the Ultra version has a range of 650 kilometers (about 404 miles), based on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).
Avatr has also integrated advanced driver assistance technology into the 07L. All models come equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system, featuring tiered configurations. The Max+ and Ultra versions include the high-end ADS Max, which is enhanced by a roof-mounted 896-channel LiDAR sensor, recognized as the highest-spec LiDAR in mass production. This system can detect objects as small as 14 centimeters from a distance of 120 meters. The Elite version, on the other hand, is fitted with the ADS Pro enhanced version, which incorporates an in-cabin LiDAR.
A notable feature of the 07L is its support for RCA roaming cruise assist, allowing drivers to activate the navigation-based driver assistance without needing to set a route in advance. This innovation positions the 07L as a competitive option in the rapidly evolving EV landscape, where technology and performance are increasingly prioritized by consumers.
Given its combination of design, specifications, features, and pricing, the Avatr 07L is poised to attract many buyers, potentially solidifying Avatr's place in the electric vehicle market, which includes established players like XPENG, NIO, and Leapmotor. The launch of the 07L reflects Avatr's commitment to delivering high-tech, visually appealing vehicles that meet the demands of modern consumers.
